Vadodara : Vadodara Corporation has informed the citizens that Ajwa and Pratappura dam gates were opened on 31/08/2024 in view of the situation. Due to which the level of Ajwa Dam is as low as 1.5 feet and the level of Pratappura Dam is as low as 5 feet. Now the gates of Ajwa and Pratappura dams have been closed due to forecast of light to moderate rain on 2nd and 3rd. At present the Vishwamitri level is 15.5 feet. Citizens need not panic and are requested not to pay heed to rumours. At 11 am today, the level of Ajwa lake was 211.95 feet, while the level of Pratappura lake was recorded at 225.40 feet. It is worth mentioning here that because the gates of the lake were constantly open, there was a terrible flood in Vadodara when the water was still inflowing. The level of Ajwa Sarovar was 213.65 feet when the earlier decision was taken to shut off Ajwa water. After that the rains stopped and the level of Vishwamitri river also decreased. As decided earlier, water was released from Saturday night to maintain the level of 212 feet in the lake today and the level decreased by about one and a half feet in 24 hours. However, the level of Vishwamitri rose from 10 feet to 14.86 feet with the inflow of water since then and has continued to rise since then. But the corporation says that there is no cause for concern now.
