Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service claimed to have put 850 buses on road on Monday morning. But out of these 750 buses were allocated for the program held at Prime Minister’s GMDC. Only hundred buses were allocated for people. In the name of diversion under Eid Otha, people were forced to look for other options including shuttle rickshaws as the system withdrew the buses. In order to see the presence of more people in this program, BJP corporators were instructed by the party to fill AMTS buses for their wards and transport people to GMDC ground. Following this instruction, the Municipal Transport Service Most of the buses were not seen on the road since morning. According to Transport Manager RL Pandey, 850 buses were put on the road in the morning shift on Monday. Buses plying on some routes were diverted considering Eid festival. The transport manager refused to say how many buses were allotted for the Prime Minister’s program. The chairman of the committee also said that GMDC did not disclose the number of buses allocated for the program. In order to show that a large number of people are present in the program of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, apart from the employees of various departments of the Municipal Corporation, along with the officials, the teachers working in the municipal schools were also kept present at the venue of the program.
