Delhi / Mehsana / Ahmedabad, May 15, 2024 – A state-of-the-art ‘Cath Lab’ facility at Zydus Sitapur Hospital, a CSR initiative of Maruti Suzuki completes one year of serving the community with advanced cardiac care facility and ensuring access to critical tertiary care in the region.

Established with an investment of Rs. 5.6 crore, the Cath Lab is fully funded by Maruti Suzuki under the company’s CSR initiative.

Equipped with cutting-edge medical infrastructure and managed by a team of expert healthcare professionals, the hospital offers several advanced clinical facilities such as General Medicine, Orthopedics, Trauma, Gynaecology, Urology, Nephrology and Dialysis. The Cath lab was introduced in April 2023.

Speaking on the successful completion of first year of the Cath Lab, Mr. Rahul Bharti, Executive Officer – Corporate Affairs, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said“Built with the motivation to make tertiary healthcare accessible to the community around our plant, the company has invested overall Rs 160 crore towards setting up Zydus Sitapur, a multi-specialty 110-bedded hospital. It is an interesting example of how a corporate can make a positive intervention in a hitherto uninhabited place and make it a congenial place for community and employees. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3 that focuses on good health and promotes well-being of people, the launch of the Cath lab underlines our commitment to support local healthcare infrastructure with last-mile access to cardiac treatment in the region.”

Mr. Bharti added, “Our efforts have also helped us serve 240 heart patients belonging to low-income groups under the prestigious Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.”

Zydus Sitapur Hospital launched in 2021 is the region’s first multi-specialty hospital. It is funded by Maruti Suzuki under its CSR initiatives. The hospital is managed and operated by Ramanbhai Foundation, an arm of Zydus Group. The hospital has transformed healthcare in the region with its affordable and specialized healthcare services reaching more than 15 lakh people from nearby villages. Previously people had to travel long distances to access quality secondary and tertiary medical care.

As a symbol of quality healthcare provider, the hospital is accredited with NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) certification and was recently conferred with gold quality certification by the Quality Council of India (QCI).
