A rally has been organized by various Hindu organizations protesting the construction of an illegal mosque in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. The protesters proceeded from Mandi city’s Sakodi Chowk, where the police fired water cannon to disperse the crowd. Police had made tight security at Sakodi Chowk. After this dispute in Mandi, Mandi Deputy Commissioner Apoorva Devgan said that action will be taken against the illegal construction, and the mosque will be sealed. , this is a peace loving state, where all religions are respected. Keeping in view the intention not to offend any religion or caste, the Government will take action in accordance with law. Illegal construction is not acceptable. It was further added that the assembly should constitute a committee on street vendors, where local disputes would be resolved. In the case of Shimla Masjid also, action will be taken keeping in mind the law.”
