The Ahmedabad Round of Young Indians Parliament (YiP) 2026, organized by Young Indians (Yi) Ahmedabad, concluded on a high note with enthusiastic participation from students representing 14 leading schools across the city. The event provided an engaging platform for students to experience parliamentary proceedings through debates, policy discussions, question hours, and legislative simulations, while nurturing leadership, critical thinking, public speaking, and democratic values.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Dr. Hemang Joshi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Vadodara Constituency, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the young delegates, Dr. Joshi encouraged students to actively participate in the democratic process, cultivate informed perspectives, and embrace leadership with integrity and responsibility. During an engaging interactive session, he answered questions posed by the students, sharing valuable insights from his parliamentary journey and inspiring them to become informed, responsible, and active citizens.
In a special gesture of encouragement, Dr. Hemang Joshi also expressed his willingness to facilitate an educational visit to the Gujarat Legislative Assembly (Gujarat Vidhan Sabha) for the top 15 parliamentarians, subject to the necessary approvals and scheduling. The initiative aims to provide students with first-hand exposure to the functioning of the State Legislature and further deepen their understanding of democratic governance and the legislative process.
Throughout the competition, students showcased exceptional debating skills, analytical thinking, and a strong understanding of governance and public policy. Their enthusiasm and commitment reflected the immense potential of the youth to contribute meaningfully towards nation-building.
Based on their outstanding performances, 15 students from Ahmedabad have been selected to represent the city at the Young Indians Parliament (YiP) 2026 – Western Region Regional Round, which will be hosted by Yi Ahmedabad on 22nd and 23rd August 2026. The Regional Round will bring together talented student delegates from 15 cities across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Goa, providing them with an opportunity to compete on a larger regional platform.
Young Indians Ahmedabad expressed its sincere gratitude to the participating schools, principals, teachers, judges, mentors, volunteers, and partners whose unwavering support contributed to the successful execution of the event. Through initiatives like Young Indians Parliament, Yi continues to empower young minds, strengthen democratic values, and inspire the next generation of responsible leaders and changemakers.
