Farmers once again lined up for peanut sales at Jamnagar’s Hapa Marketing Yard last night, and about 600 vehicles loaded with peanuts were piled up. Approximately 45,000 tons of peanuts were unloaded from all those vehicles this morning. Due to the very high prices of peanuts being quoted in the entire Saurashtra region, farmers come to the Hapa Marketing Yard with their vehicles, and outside the yard, more than 600 vehicles including trucks, tempos, boleros, tractors, rickshaws, and chhakdas loaded with peanuts were lined up. Farmers stood in queues for 24 hours with their vehicles to sell groundnuts, while the marketing yard operators gave tokens to all the farmers. Based on which tokens, the farmers brought their vehicles to the marketing yard one by one, and this morning, about 45,000 tons of groundnuts were unloaded at the marketing yard, and again the arrival of new vehicles has been stopped for the time being. New arrivals will be started again after the auction process of all the groundnuts is completed.
