In the year 2025-26, 24 new schools will be built by the Municipal Corporation. Out of the draft budget of Rs 1143 crore for the year 2025-26, only Rs 77.50 crore will be spent on educational activities. The draft budget of Rs 1143 crore of the Municipal School Board for the year 2025-26 has been presented by the Administrative Officer Dr. Lagdhir Desai. However, Rs 1042.5 crore will be spent only on payment of salaries and pensions. Rs 77.50 crore will be spent on educational activities. For schools run by the Municipal School Board, the state government will provide Rs 808 crore of grantable expenditure and the municipal corporation will provide Rs 131 crore. The year 2025 is the centenary year of the Municipal Primary Education Committee.
