A complaint has come out that the condition of the Anganwadi located at Jahangirpura in Surat Municipality’s Rander Zone is deplorable. Water drips from the courtyard at Jahangirpura Awas and even the fan is off. Where poor children and pregnant women-midwives come, the wiring is burnt and accidents are feared. If the municipality does not take immediate action, there is a threat to people’s lives. If there is a defect in people’s property, some of the property of Surat Municipality is causing accidents besides being dilapidated. Anganwadi of the municipality is located in front of Sai Villa at Jahangirpura in Rander Zone of Surat Municipality. Water is dripping from its roof. Besides this, the electric wiring has been burnt from the slab. Even fans are not working in Anganwadi. Poor children are taught in this place. Apart from this, how do pregnant and lactating sisters come and sit in the anganwadi. In such circumstances, there is a fear of an accident. Hence, immediate action has been demanded. Locals said the municipality housing has a population of 500-600 in about 15 towers. All the workers earn their bread by working all day long. The children study in Nandghar School (Anganwadi) of the Municipal Corporation built in housing. Sewage and toilet water have been coming out outside the Anganwadi school for several days. Despite many complaints, no action is taken from the corporation. Small bugs are forced to wade through such dirty water every morning.
