As part of the Statewide Access to Remote Adjudication System (SARAS) project, five new additional online courts for cheque return cases have been launched for the first time in the Gujarat judiciary at Lal Darwaja Apna Bazar Bahumali Building. Which was recently inaugurated virtually by Supreme Court Justice Suryakant from the Gujarat High Court. With the launch of these five new online courts (remote adjudication courts), now cheque return cases can be filed online from any corner of the country and lawyers or parties can run their cases virtually from any place. In this new online court for cheque return cases, the cases related to the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ahmedabad city will be transferred and the newly appointed judges in this court will have to hear the cases online and virtually. In addition to two judges from Ahmedabad, judges from Anand, Gir Somnath and Narmada districts have also been assigned the task of handling these online cases of cheque return and remote adjudication courts. Cases of banking and non-banking finance companies and financial institutions will now be heard in online courts. Lawyers will also have to e-file and conduct cases virtually. Regarding this, Anil C. Kella, Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Gujarat Bar Council, said that for the first time in the history of the Gujarat judiciary, these five new online courts (remote adjudication courts) have been started on the sixth floor of the Lal Darwaza, Apna Bazar multi-storey building for the hearing and disposal of cheque return cases. This decision has been taken with the noble intention of reducing the burden of cheque return cases and speedy and effective disposal of pending cases, which will prove to be very important.
