Ahmedabad: The titles of mega city, smart city have been given to Ahmedabad. People have to take the help of law to get basic facilities from the Municipal Corporation. Out of 215 public interest petitions filed against the Municipal Corporation, 115 public interest petitions have been filed for things like road, sewerage and water. Even after being hit by the Gujarat High Court several times, the municipal system is not improving. .Be it bad roads in Ahmedabad, stray cattle problem or traffic issue. Regarding all such matters, the Gujarat High Court has repeatedly ordered the officials of the concerned department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to take strict action. However, even now, the citizens are facing a lot of trouble due to other issues like stray cattle, traffic problems, potholes on the road. According to the allegation made by the opposition leader, the level of basic facilities is continuously deteriorating due to arbitrary administration by the municipal administration and authorities. Citizens have to file a public interest petition in the Gujarat High Court even to get basic facilities like roads, sewerage and water. Citizens regularly pay all taxes. However, the system or the ruling party has been completely failed in providing good basic facilities.
