Ahmedabad : The cracks have come out in the Jalaram underpass built at a cost of Rs 85 crore. In addition to the metro rail project, there was a joint planning of the railways and the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation regarding the operation of this underpass which was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of the state on March 4-24. The negligence in the construction of the underpass has come to light within five months of its inauguration. It was decided in the year 2016 to construct the 452 meter long Jalaram underpass in the city. In addition to Gujarat Metro Rail, Western Railway and Municipal Corporation have spent Rs. 33 crores for the construction of this underpass from the Municipal Corporation. 47 crores have been spent by Gujarat Metro Rail and Rs. 3 crores by Western Railway. It has been learned from official sources that the work of the underpass has been done by Ravi Builders. Jalaram underpass has been the center of controversy ever since it was launched. The system was forced to close to the public within the counting time when the underpass was launched.
