Electricity checking process again by the electricity authority in Jamnagar district: Electricity theft worth 57.62 lakhs caught

After a fortnight’s break, electricity checking was again carried out by the electricity authority yesterday in Jamnagar city as well as in Lalpur and Jamjodhpur panthak, and 39 electricity checking teams were made to run. And during the checking, irregularities were found in 92 electricity connections, and they were given supplementary bills for electricity theft worth 57.62 lakhs. The checking drive of Jamnagar PGVCL Circle Office conducted mass electricity checking yesterday Monday morning in urban areas including Hanuman Tekri Vambe Awas, Bedeshwar, Punit Nagar, Dharar Nagar of Jamnagar city as well as in rural areas including Valasan and Sidsar of Lalpur taluka and Jamjodhpur. As many as 39 electricity checking teams were deployed since early morning, for which 27 local police personnel and ten ex-armymen were roped in to help. A total of 451 electricity connections were checked throughout the day. Out of which irregularities were found in 92 electricity connections, and they were given supplementary bills of Rs 57.62 lakh for electricity theft.
