AHMEDABAD: Recently there was an incident of assault on a resident doctor in the LG Hospital of Ahmedabad. After this incident, it has been decided to implement the visitors policy in all the hospitals of the municipal corporation. Only one relative can stay with the admitted patient. Apart from this, relatives of the patient will not be able to meet the patient except during visiting hours. Visitors will not be allowed to enter the hospital without a pass. More than 4500 medical and 5000 paramedical staff are working in all the hospitals managed by the municipal corporation. It has been decided in the standing committee to amend the resolution and implement the new visitors policy for the hospitals. Only one family member will be admitted along with the patient coming for treatment in the OPD. In case of emergency during non OPD hours, Even in case of casualty, two more relatives can be kept with the patient. Only one relative will be admitted inside and outside the ICU. Two relatives will be admitted along with the admitted patient in deluxe, special and semi-special rooms. Relatives can stay for a maximum of 30 minutes.
