Surat Railway Station: If there is a big festival like Diwali, the fun of celebrating with the family is something different and that is why during this time people are looking for their homeland. Such scenes were also seen in Surat. This time the crowd like the one or two days before Diwali at the railway station was seen a little earlier. This year, people have started going home early to avoid suffering in the last days.

Crowded with large number of passengers since early morning

Surat is called mini India. There is a large number of expatriates residing here for business employment. A huge crowd of passengers was seen at the Udhana railway station today (October 18) from 5 o’clock in the morning. People stood in line since early morning to catch the train to go home.

There is also a tight police presence at the railway station

Most of the trains to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar depart from Udhana railway station. So Udhana railway station was crowded with passengers going to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar from early morning. A tight police presence was also seen to prevent any major tragedy or disorder from the large number of people who flocked to this Damarian.

Some passengers also expressed their anger against the system of the railway department

The passengers appealed to the railway department and said, ‘Since five in the morning, the passengers have been standing in line waiting for the train. Every year such calamities happen but proper arrangements are not made. Even though there is a holiday special train, a lot of trouble has to be faced. The government and the railway department should run more trains.’
