Surat has the largest number of Ganesha establishments in the whole of Gujarat. Thousands of small and big Ganesh were installed yesterday after being dissolved. The administrative system was also very well prepared for Sriji’s dissolution. Kutrim Lake was also built at a cost of crores of rupees, but the view that dawned today is not really worth it. After establishing Ganesha, people are allowed to immerse Ganesha in the sea, but they cannot even go to Kutrim Lake to immerse Sriji properly. Today, more than 200 Gausevaks of Madhav Gaushala and Animal Hostel run by Sanskriti Raksha Samiti in different places like Dindoli, Kharwasa, Chalthan, Parvat Patiya in Surat. More than 2500 Lord Ganesha idols of semi-discharged floating POP were removed from canals in the area and re-discharged into the sea at Hazira. Every year in this manner the statue of Shriji is placed in the canals or other places in the name of dissolution. It is clear from this scenario that Ganesha participates in the festival only for the sake of establishing and entertaining. It is really sad that Ganesha devotees leave idols on the banks of canals in dirty water.
Should not be established if it cannot be dissolved:
Ashish Suryavanshi, chairman of the Cultural Protection Committee, said that for the last 8 years, our organization has been removing semi-dissolved idols of Lord Ganesha from various canals of the city, thousands of POP idols of Dashama. They have been conducting awareness campaigns to install clay idols in place of POP idols. After 10 days of worship, the idols of deities are thrown into the dirty water by the devotees which hurt the sentiments of Hinduism. For the protection of the culture, repeated representations were made by the Cultural Defense Committee to create awareness among the people and to make the administration work properly and to impose a ban on the idols of POP. Programs are provided. Despite the construction of Kutrim ponds by the Surat Manpa and the tight police presence of the Surat Police near these canals, the so-called Ganesha devotees take advantage of the opportunity to immerse the idol of Lord Ganesha for their own convenience. Request to such devotees that if Bappa cannot be established and dissolved in a proper place, then not be established.
