Nadiad: On the day of Nag Panchami, Megha Meherban happened in Kheda district. There was universal rainfall in the district with 4 inches in Nadiad town, four and a half inches in Mahudha and three and a half inches in Kapdwanj. In Nadiad city, all the low-lying areas including four streams were flooded. When an animal died due to lightning in Jarawat village of Mehmedabad. In Kheda district, it was as if Meghraja had left since the beginning of Shravan month. During full monsoon, the fury of the sun increased the humidity in the atmosphere. There was a feeling of joy among the farmers as there was scattered rain in the district for the last two days. On Friday, on the day of Nag Panchami, Megharaja started raining from the early morning. Four inches of rain was recorded in Nadiad, four and a half inches in Mahudha and three and a half inches in Kapdwanj with strong winds and thunder. While there was significant rain in other taluks as well. Due to heavy rain in Nadiad, the road from Shaishav Hospital slope to Rabariwas, Vaniyawad, Pij Road, etc., were flooded in low lying areas. Also, Mai Mandir, Khodiyar, Shreyas and Vaishali streams of the city were inundated with rainwater. So the city was divided into two parts and traffic from east to west was disrupted. The citizens had to use the Mission Railway Bridge and the Kidney Hospital Bridge.
