Divisional Railway Manager Conducts Detailed Safety Inspection of Dhola–Porbandar Section and Porbandar Station

The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of the Bhavnagar Division, Western Railway, Shri Dinesh Verma, conducted a comprehensive safety inspection of the Dhola–Porbandar rail section on 11 July. During the inspection, he thoroughly reviewed the safety arrangements, progress of safety-related works, passenger amenities, track infrastructure, signalling and telecommunication systems, and other railway assets. Necessary instructions were issued to the concerned officials to ensure adherence to prescribed standards.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Shri Atul Kumar Tripathi informed that following the section inspection, the DRM also carried out a detailed inspection of Porbandar Railway Station. During the visit, he closely examined the recently completed yard remodelling works. He reviewed the new yard layout, improvements in operational efficiency, compliance with safety standards, and the quality of execution. The concerned officials were instructed to ensure effective maintenance of the newly created assets and their safe operation.
The DRM also reviewed the completed works undertaken at Porbandar Railway Station under the Amrit Station Scheme. He inspected various aspects related to passenger amenities, cleanliness, safety, security, and inter-departmental coordination.
During the inspection, the DRM emphasized that providing passengers with safe, smooth, and high-quality rail services remains the highest priority. He directed that all safety-related development and maintenance works should be completed in a time-bound manner in accordance with prescribed standards, and that no laxity should be tolerated in the maintenance of railway assets and the safe operation of train services.
The inspection was attended by branch officers of the division, along with officers and staff from the concerned departments.
