The #Maher fever is about to hit an unprecedented high as COLORS’ drama ‘Seher Hone Ko Hai’ takes a seven-year leap with Bhavika Sharma essaying the title role. A period of separation has rewritten the destinies of the star-crossed lovers (Mahid and Seher, played by Parth Samthaan& Bhavika), transforming them into entirely different individuals bound by an unresolved tragedy. Seher has successfully manifested her childhood dreams, having completed her MBBS with distinction. She is now Dr. Seher Kausar Baig, a brilliant neurology resident, viewing medicine as a sacred promise to her late mother, Kausar. However, beneath her confident exterior, she is incapable of healing her own fractured soul, with resentment toward Mahid, holding him responsible for Kausar’s death.

Meanwhile, Mahid has ascended to the position of a revered Mufti. Behind his composed authority lies a mind collapsing under extreme trauma as he blames himself for failing to protect both his own mother and Kausar. The knowledge that Seher blames him for her mother’s death haunts him daily. This guilt drives him to severe self-punishment. Watching this destruction from the shadows is Husna, who happily celebrates the success of the manipulative web she has spun. However, fate pulls Seher back into Niyazi Manzil, forcing a confrontation with the man she has avoided for seven years. As Mahid’s psychological condition rapidly degrades, destiny plays a cruel trick: he becomes Dr. Seher’s patient. Bound by her Hippocratic Oath, Seher must now use her expertise to heal the very man she hates. Will she honour her profession to save his collapsing mind, or will the consuming hatred for Kausar’s alleged killer cause her to walk away?

Bhavika Sharma, essaying the role of Dr. Seher Kausar Baig says, “It’s honestly a mix of excitement and responsibility to star in Seher Hone Ko Hai after the leap. I’ve been watching the show’s journey from the sidelines, and the love it has received is phenomenal. The #Maher fever is impossible to ignore – the way audiences are emotionally invested in their love story is special. Taking on the title role in a show that people love is thrilling, but it also comes with a sense of responsibility. Seher is now an empowered woman, living life on her own terms. She has broken countless barriers to become a neurologist with distinction, yet emotionally she is still that little girl carrying unresolved grief. She is torn between her very human urge for revenge and the sacred doctor’s oath she lives by. The question of whether she can heal Mahid, the man she believes is responsible for her mother’s death, is what really drives the story forward. I hope audiences take away one powerful message from Seher’s journey – that choosing duty over bitterness, and healing over holding on to old wounds, is sometimes the bravest thing you can do.”

Embodying Mahid, Parth Samthaan says, “First and foremost, a massive thank you to our incredible audience. The endless messages, the edits, and the overwhelming love for Mahid and the #Maher bond are what drive us every single day on set. Post-leap, Mahid is a revered leader, a pillar of strength for his community, yet his own mind has become his worst enemy. There are so many people in our society who deal with severe, silent psychological trauma every single day; they dress up, go to work, lead seemingly perfect lives, but are collapsing inside. Mahid cannot vocalize his agony, with his guilt acting like a slow poison. This track is a powerful exploration of mental health hidden beneath a mask of normalcy. I hope his journey encourages viewers to acknowledge their internal battles and realize that seeking healing is never a sign of weakness.”

Watch the leap unfold in ‘Seher Hone Ko Hai’ from 6th July every day at 8:30 pm only on COLORS and JioHotstar.
