Fire broke out at a flat in Ahmedabad’s Satellite area on Saturday, triggering panic among residents of Ratnakar-3 apartment near Jodhpur Prerna Tirth Road. The blaze erupted on the third floor of the building’s B-Wing, with flames and thick smoke quickly engulfing the area.
Residents rushed out of the building as the fire spread, while the fire department deployed six fire tenders to the spot. Firefighters used four vehicles to control the blaze and managed to prevent it from spreading to other flats after prolonged efforts. No injuries or deaths were reported.
The incident comes a day after another major fire at Solitaire Building on SG Highway, where flames spread from the third floor to the fourth and fifth floors, causing chaos inside the commercial complex.
Back-to-back fire incidents in Ahmedabad within 48 hours have once again raised concerns over fire safety preparedness in residential and commercial buildings across the city.
