Sharing her experience of getting into a new look, Deepika Singh says, “It was my first time playing cricket and what an experience it has been! I’ve watched the game all my life, but actually stepping onto the pitch and holding my stance while batting – that’s a completely different ball game altogether. I pulled it off with the support of a brilliant team. This marked the first time I sported a sardar’s look. Shooting in that scorching heat with a glued-on beard was super challenging. But doing that and even speaking Punjabi on screen pushed me far out of my comfort zone – and that’s exactly what I love about being an actor. What made this track fun was my co-actors, many of whom are massive cricket fans. They became my cheer squad, helping me with body language, posture, and even little cricketing nuances that really mattered on screen. The audience has always showered so much love on every new look I’ve tried, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how they react to this one. With this cricket track, my only hope is to entertain them, surprise them, and give them yet another reason to enjoy Mangal Lakshmi.”_
