Ahmedabad: Large parts of Gujarat continued to reel under intense heat on Monday, with several inland centres recording maximum temperatures above 43°C, according to the weather report by the India Meteorological Department. Ahmedabad remained among the hottest locations, recording a maximum temperature of 44.2°C, which is 2.6°C above normal, while the minimum settled at 25.7°C.Bhuj also witnessed severe heat at 43.8°C, followed by Gandhinagar at 43.4°C, Amreli and Rajkot at 43.3°C each, and Deesa at 42.2°C, all registering above-normal temperatures. In contrast, coastal areas experienced relatively milder conditions, with Dwarka at 32.3°C, Veraval at 32.9°C, and Okha at 33.6°C. Surat and Daman also remained on the cooler side at 35.1°C and 35.2°C respectively.Humidity levels varied significantly across the state, with coastal regions such as Veraval (90%), Dwarka (86%), and Diu (90%) reporting high morning humidity, while interior regions like Ahmedabad (44%) and Gandhinagar (46%) recorded comparatively lower levels. Evening humidity dropped sharply in most inland areas.
