Ambuja Cements, the 9th largest building materials solutions provider globally and part of the diversified Adani Portfolio, as part of its CSR efforts, launched a key water conservation initiative with the ground-breaking ceremony of deepening the Bandha Pond in Maldi village, Chhattisgarh. The project aims to enhance water security for the communities of Maldi and 7–8 neighbouring villages by improving the storage capacity of the Pond to 10 lakh cubic litres. This intervention is expected to help reduce water scarcity, boost agricultural productivity, and enable farmers to undertake two crop cycles, thereby strengthening local livelihoods. The event saw the participation of district leaders, five Sarpanches, Janpad Panchayat Upadhyaksh, three Upsarpanch, company officials, and around 70 villagers, reflecting strong community support for the initiative.
