With the withdrawal of nominations closing on August 25, two candidates remain in the contest for the Vice-Presidential Election, 2025.The contesting candidates are Buchireddy Sudershan Reddy, resident of Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, and C.P. Radhakrishnan, currently residing at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.Polling will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in Room No. F-101, Vasudha, Parliament House, New Delhi. Voting will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. the same day.The Electoral College for the election comprises members of both Houses of Parliament. Nominated members of the Rajya Sabha are also part of the Electoral College and are entitled to vote.Polling arrangements are being overseen by P.C. Mody, Returning Officer for the election and Secretary-General of the Rajya Sabha. Counting of votes will begin at 6 p.m. on September 9, and results will be announced immediately after the completion of counting.
