Kolkata: 150 personnel of the paramilitary force CISF are being deployed at the controversial RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata following the Supreme Court order. Early on Wednesday morning, a CISF team was taken by a DIG rank officer to RG Kar Hospital where a trainee doctor was killed after being raped. These jawans will be deployed to guard the residences and hostels of the doctors serving in the hospital. After the incident with the lady doctor in the hospital, many doctors living in the campus have moved to other places. On the other hand, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FEIMA) has appealed to the Supreme Court regarding the safety of doctors. The organization said that amid the recent incidents, the threat to doctors has increased. While a former official of the hospital has made serious allegations against Sandeep Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata. CBI also questioned Sandeep Ghosh. Akhtar Ali, former deputy superintendent of the hospital, has claimed that Sandeep Ghosh is running a racket of selling unclaimed dead bodies from the hospital. They are also involved in trafficking of biomedical waste. He was deliberately failing students, taking 20 percent commission on tender orders, serving alcohol to students in his guest house, beating his wife, many such allegations have been leveled against him. Cracks are being seen in the whole matter in the ruling party TMC of West Bengal. Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee is also getting indications that he is not happy with the way the West Bengal Police is investigating the matter. Abhishek, who demanded an encounter with the RG Kar Hospital accused, was not seen at the recent rally held by Mamata Banerjee. Abhishek Banerjee wanted to convey a message to Mamata by being absent from the rally that he was not happy with the incident at the hospital and the lax action taken by the police after that. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said after the physical abuse of two girls in Badlapur that it makes us think in which direction we are going as a society, all governments and parties should think about what steps can be taken for the safety of women.
