Maharashtra’s acting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has refused to take part in the government. According to sources, Shinde is not ready to take the post of Deputy CM. But he can make any other leader of the party the Deputy CM. Eknath Shinde had held a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday and made a positive statement, but there are reports that the controversy has flared up again after the meetings to be held in Mumbai on this issue were cancelled. According to media reports, Shinde had demanded the post of Speaker in the Assembly and the responsibilities of the Urban Development Department in addition to the Home Ministry. Shinde has been making continuous statements and claiming that he is with the BJP. But there has been internal discord. According to people who understand Maharashtra politics, the Bharatiya Janata Party wants to include Shinde as its Deputy CM in the core team of its government to give a message of unity to the people of the state. However, Shiv Sena leaders have said that they will follow the choice of PM Narendra Modi and Shah. But Shinde has clearly refused to take this post. The BJP also wants the people of Maha Vikas Aghadi not to create any new controversy on this important issue, so BJP leaders are constantly persuading Shinde to accept the post of Deputy CM. Another source regarding this decision believes that if Shinde continues to support the BJP like a true brother, then the BJP will not need to look at Ajit Pawar again and again.
