Over 300 trees fell in various areas of the city due to the storm in Vadodara, one person died

A storm that blew at a speed of 110 kmph has caused havoc in Vadodara city on Wednesday (25th September). Due to this storm, more than 300 trees have fallen in different areas of the city. Due to which more than 50 vehicles have been crushed. The fire department team has been working to remove the fallen trees from the road since yesterday evening.

Death of middle-aged man by falling tree:
Along with Vadodara city, heavy rains have also created desolation in many areas of the district. Kiran Singh Rathore of Pipli village of Padra taluka died after being crushed under a tree. 50-year-old Kiran Singh was taking his bike from Padra to his home. In the meantime, a Nilgiri tree fell on him on the road and he died due to severe head injury. In Vadodara, due to the torrential rain that broke with the storm, trees fell everywhere and cattle were crushed. Horses were buried under trees in Gharrawadi area, which were rescued by the fire department team. When goats were pressed near a house in Kishanwadi area, they were also rescued. An accident occurred during tree removal operations. A fireman named Shamalbhai of Panigad Paras station was electrocuted while the power supply continued on Waghodia road. Due to which Teman got injured in his hand. At present, the work is being done to open the road by removing the fallen trees on a war footing and to remove the vehicles. The fire brigade is still receiving various calls, including falling trees.
