People across the country are celebrating Ganeshotsav today. However, with the arrival of Bappa, inflation has also entered Gujarat. Various types of dishes are prepared at home during the festival, but this time the amount of this dish may be less in the house. In Rajkot today, with the opening of the market, the price of edible oil has increased. Due to which the budget of the housewives has been disrupted during the festival itself. The prices of coconut oil and cottonseed oil have gone up in the market today. The price of cottonseed oil has increased to Rs 70 in the last two days. On the other hand, the price of castor oil has also increased by 60 rupees. The recent heavy rains have reduced crushing as mills are not getting raw material. Due to which the price of oil has increased. According to today’s market price, with an increase of 70 rupees, the price of a can of Singtel oil has reached 2690 rupees. Along with this, with an increase of 60 rupees, the price of cotton oil has increased to 1740.

On one hand is the festive season. Also, on the other hand, the budget of the housewife has been disrupted due to such a huge increase in the price of oil along with small food items. The rise in oil prices in the last six months is as follows. Farmers in Bhavnagar, Amreli, Rajkot areas of Saurashtra planted groundnut in large quantities due to the prospect of good rains. But, the continuous rains have turned water on the crops as well. The groundnut crop started yellowing due to the blight and a lot of the actual crop was lost. Farmers have also faced huge losses due to the loss of groundnut crop. Along with this, the price of oil has increased due to lack of supply against demand in the market.
