The death of famous tabla player Ustad Zakir Hussain has been confirmed. His health was fragile. On Sunday (December 15, 2024), his health deteriorated and he was immediately admitted to a hospital in San Francisco, America. However, there were rumors of his death first and then it was revealed that he was undergoing treatment. However, his family finally confirmed his death on Monday. It is important to note that Zakir Hussain, who was born in Mumbai on March 9, 1951, was honored with India’s second highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan, the Padma Bhushan, and the Padma Shri. Zakir Hussain’s name is famous all over the world and he has crores of fans in many countries including India. Earlier, journalist Parvez Alam shared a picture of Zakir Hussain on X (formerly Twitter). Along with this, he wrote, ‘Tabla player, rhythm player, musician, former actor and son of the great tabla player Allah Raqqa, Ustad Zakir Hussain is not in good health.’ Although later the news of his death spread and it was reported that his condition was stable, but now his family has confirmed his death.

Zakir Hussain was born in Mumbai. Zakir was very fond of tabla since childhood and he also learned its tricks from his father. At the age of just three, he started learning to play rhythm. Zakir’s first concert was when he was seven years old. After this, he started touring at the age of 11. After this, when Zakir was invited to the White House by former President Barack Obama to participate in the All-Star Global Concert, he was the first Indian to do so. Let us tell you that a few days ago, Zakir Hussain’s ‘As We Speak’ had announced a tour of India. There was talk of the participation of many big artists in it and this tour is going to start next year i.e. in January 2025.
