Ahmedabad: It has been decided to implement the Standard Operating Procedure for the disposal of demolition waste generated during house repairs or demolition and construction in Ahmedabad. Penalties ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 lakh will be levied from those who dispose of it on public roads or footpaths and other places in the city. 25 plots of the Municipal Corporation have been identified in seven zones for dumping soil, fill, building debris, etc. generated due to reasons such as house repairs or new construction in the municipal area. In this plot, the citizens will have to dispose of the demolition waste at their own expense. No charge will be levied by the Municipal Corporation in this regard. Municipal Commissioner M. Thennarasan has urged the administration to strictly implement the Standard Operating Procedure for the proper disposal of the demolition waste generated in the city. Citizens who are unable to dispose of the demolition waste of their house for any reason can file a complaint with CCRS on 155303 and pay the prescribed rate to get the demolition waste disposed of. This SOP will also be applicable in the new projects of the government and the municipality. One squad has been deployed per zone in the seven zones of the city to ensure that demolition waste does not fall on public places, roads or footpaths.
Chargeable arrangement for removal of demolition waste:

The debris coming out of the roads demolished during the road resurfacing work in the city will be disposed of in the plots determined by the municipality with that agency. In addition, work will be done to ensure that soil or debris does not fall on the road after the work is done for gas connection lines, electricity, telephone, etc., which have been approved by the engineer department to the service provider agencies.
