Amreli: Renowned spiritual leader Morari Bapu on Monday congratulated the Indian cricket team for winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, describing the achievement as a moment of pride for the nation. Speaking during the ongoing Manas Meghani Ramkatha at Bagasara in Amreli district, Bapu extended heartfelt greetings to the players, coaching staff and the entire team for bringing glory to the country. “Heartiest congratulations to the Indian cricket team for winning the T20 World Cup. Yesterday was celebrated as International Women’s Day, but the team has made it a Men’s Day as well,” he said while addressing the Ramkatha. Batting first in the final match at Ahmedabad on Sunday, the Indian cricket team defeated New Zealand by 96 runs, to defend their title and lift their third T20 World Cup, becoming the first team to do so. The victory has sparked celebrations across the country, with messages of appreciation pouring in from leaders, public figures and citizens. Emphasising the spirit of sportsmanship, Bapu noted that beyond the result of a match, the true victory lies in the celebration of the sport itself. “It does not matter who won or lost. What matters is that cricket has won. There is no reason for anyone to feel disappointed,” he said. Expressing his personal happiness over the victory, Bapu said the achievement has filled Indians with pride. “As Indians, we feel thrilled and proud. I dedicate my happiness and heartfelt wishes to the players and their families,” he added. He concluded by extending his best wishes to the Indian team and expressed hope that they would continue to inspire the nation through their sportsmanship and performances.
