The 79th Independence Day of our beloved nation was commemorated at Western Railway, with the National Flag hoisted by Shri Vivek Kumar Gupta, General Manager of Western Railway, at the Western Railway Headquarters in Churchgate. On this glorious occasion, he inspected the ceremonial parade of RPF. Shri Gupta addressed the gathering by extending his greetings of this solemn occasion to the Railwaymen and their families. At the start of the function, GM Shri Vivek Kumar Gupta was welcomed by Shri Ajoy Sadany, IG-cum-Principal Chief Security Commissioner of Western Railway. Smt. Neeta Gupta, President of Western Railway’s Women Welfare Organization (WRWWO), Shri Pradeep Kumar, Additional General Manager of Western Railway, Principal Heads of Departments alongwith other senior railway officers were also present. According to a Press Release issued by Shri Vineet Abhishek – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, in his Independence Day Message, General Manager Shri Gupta briefed the gathering about the achievements & milestones accomplished by Western Railway recently. He stated that while we pay befitting tributes and homage to the unwavering valour and sacrifice of our freedom fighters, martyrs and all the heroes of the freedom struggle movement, we must continue to draw inspiration from their valiant spirit and channel our efforts to serve and build a better future for our country. Shri Gupta while concluding his address, motivated the staff to continue with the hardwork and appealed everyone to dedicate their efforts in the service of the nation and its citizens. He mentioned that with the collective efforts, Western Railway will march ahead on the path of continuous progress and play an important role in taking Indian Railways as well as India to greater heights.
