14701 cases of heart problems in Gujarat in two months, 10 cases every hour, of which 30% are in Ahmedabad

There has been an alarming increase in cases of heart problems in Gujarat. 14701 cases of heart-related emergencies have been reported in the two months of October-November. Thus, 10 cases of heart-related emergencies have been reported every hour in these two months. There has been an increase of 14 percent in cases of heart-related emergencies compared to last year.

Increase in cases of heart-related problems in the year 2024:
According to the information received from the emergency service 108, 6763 cases of heart-related emergencies were reported in October 2023, while 7722 cases were reported in October 2024. Thus, there has been an increase of 14.18 percent in emergencies compared to October last year. Similarly, 6979 cases were reported in November 2024 and 6254 cases in November 2023. This time, there has been an increase of 12.94 percent in emergency cases compared to November last year. If we look at these two months, an average of 241 people in Gujarat have had to seek help from 108 services per day due to heart emergencies. Of the heart emergency cases reported in Gujarat, 30 percent are from Ahmedabad district alone. In Ahmedabad, 1987 cases were reported in October 2023, while 2235 cases were reported in October 2024. Heart emergency cases in Ahmedabad have increased by 12.48 percent compared to October last year. 1920 cases of heart emergency were reported in November 2024 as against 1718 cases in November 2023. 4155 cases of heart emergency have been reported in Ahmedabad in two months. From January to November this year, 77427 people have had to seek treatment for heart-related emergencies in Gujarat. Compared to which, 72573 calls were received in the entire last year. Thus, with the month of December still remaining, there has been an increase in cardiac emergency cases compared to last year.
