Surat Food Checking: In the city of Surat food and drink shops having license of the municipality are periodically checked for food quality by the health department of the municipality. But in the evening, thousands of lorries and food trucks selling food in the city were not checked. After this was raised in the meeting of the health committee, samples have been taken from the shops selling food in the evening in different areas of the city from yesterday. There are lakhs of food shops and lorries in Surat, which is fond of food.

Sampling is done by the food department to check the food quality in these food shops by the municipality. The samples taken from these shops are sent to the laboratory for testing. If a sample taken from an institution fails, a case is filed against that institution. However, for quite some time now, there have been complaints of non-sampling of food trucks and vehicles parked in the city in the evening. In the recently held health committee meeting, health committee chairman Nancy Shah instructed to take food samples from trucks and vehicles selling food in the evening. Food sample drive has been started from yesterday by the food department in the evening so that the foodies can get a taste and also maintain their health. Currently, the samples taken from the lorries and vehicles have been sent to the laboratory for testing. Action will be taken against any institute if samples fail.
