Mumbai Central Division conducts regular safety, counselling and family interaction programmes

Western Railway remains firmly committed to ensuring a safe, healthy and conducive working environment for its frontline staff, particularly Motormen and Train Managers, who play a vital role in the safe, secure and punctual running of Mumbai’s suburban train services.

According to a press release issued by the Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railway, Shri Vineet Abhishek, in line with Western Railway’s continued commitment to staff welfare and well-being, Mumbai Central Division has put in place a well-established system of rest facilities, welfare measures, counselling support, medical awareness programmes and regular interaction with crew members and their families.

Fully air-conditioned Integrated Crew Lobbies have been provided at Churchgate, Borivali and Virar stations. These lobbies are equipped with ergonomically designed seating arrangements, RO and cooler drinking water facilities and recreational facilities such as chess and carrom boards for crew members. Mumbai Central Division also has 12 air-conditioned running rooms in the suburban section, where Motormen and Train Managers can avail rest during night halts between two duty sets.

In addition, Yoga Room-cum-Tranquility Rooms have been provided at Churchgate, Borivali and Virar lobbies to facilitate relaxation, meditation and stress management. These facilities are aimed at providing crew members a calm and supportive environment during their duty cycle.
