
India Post Payments Bank has made a remarkable contribution in delivering banking services to the last mile of the country, especially in rural India. By realizing the vision of ‘Aapka bank, aapke dwaar’, IPPB continues to play a significant role in accelerating the goals of Financial Inclusion and the Digital India mission. These views were expressed by the Postmaster General, North Gujarat Region, Ahmedabad, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, during a program held at the Regional Office, Ahmedabad. During the “General Insurance Super Dhurandhar” campaign organized by India Post Payments Bank from 01 January to 31 March 2026, North Gujarat Postal Region demonstrated outstanding performance and established a strong presence at the national level. Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav congratulated all Gramin Dak Sevaks, Branch Postmasters, Postmen, as well as Divisional Heads, Sub-Divisional Heads, and India Post Payments Bank Managers for this remarkable achievement. He said that this accomplishment is the result of the hard work, dedication, teamwork, and effective strategy of the all employees of the Ahmedabad Region. During the campaign, special emphasis was laid on expanding the reach of insurance services to customers, creating public awareness, and improving service quality. IPPB Chief Manager, Shri Abhijeet Jibhakate, provided detailed insights into the campaign.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that through India Post Payments Bank, postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks are now functioning as ATM cum mobile banks. Services such as Aadhaar enrollment at home for children up to 5 years of age and mobile number updates under the CELC, Digital Life Certificates, Direct Benefit Transfers, bill payments, AEPS-based bank account transactions, vehicle insurance, health insurance, accident insurance, and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana are all being provided at the doorstep through postmen by IPPB. Online deposits can also be made in Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, Recurring Deposit (RD), Public Provident Fund (PPF), and Postal Life Insurance if someone has an IPPB account.
Postmaster General Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav said that “General Insurance Super Dhurandhar” campaign organized by India Post and India Post Payments Bank, North Gujarat Region, Ahmedabad achieved a premium collection of ₹1,53,75,607 against the target of ₹1,50,85,834, registering an achievement of 101.92%, thereby successfully qualifying in the campaign. Currently, more than 8.43 lakh IPPB accounts are operational in the North Gujarat Region, out of which over 1.43 lakh accounts have been opened during the financial year 2025-26. More than one lakh people availed General Insurance during the financial year 2025–26, out of which 23,500 people benefited under the “Super Dhurandhar” campaign alone.
Assistant Director of Postal Services Shri Ritul Gandhi said that out of the six Divisions under the North Gujarat Region, five Divisions—Ahmedabad City, Banaskantha, Mahesana, Patan, and Sabarkantha—achieved 100% of their targets and successfully qualified in the campaign. These divisions recorded achievements exceeding 100%, making a significant contribution to the overall success of the Region.
