In a major upgrade under the Bodakdev ward, Ahmedabad’s iconic Vastrapur Lake has been redeveloped at an investment of more than ₹10 crore. The lake, which has undergone extensive beautification and infrastructure enhancement, will soon be reopened to the public. Starting January 1, 2026, visitors will be required to pay an entry fee of ₹10.
After Gotila Garden and Monte Carlo Garden, Vastrapur Lake has now become the latest city attraction to introduce an entry fee system. Recreation Committee Chairman Jayesh Trivedi said that the lake will remain free for visitors between 6 am and 10 am. It will remain closed from 12 pm to 2 pm, and will be open again from 2 pm to 10 pm daily.The redevelopment work has been carried out by contractor Umiya Vijay Infra. As part of the revamp, the Narsinh Mehta Gate, Kalyan Pushti Gate, and Shaheed Chowk Gate have been newly developed. Additionally, three new fountains, an upper walkway, a lower walkway, and three new gazebos between the two walkways are currently being completed.
