
Indian equity benchmarks opened on a muted note on Monday, weighed down by domestic inflation data, mixed global cues
Indian equities started the week on a muted note amid mixed global cues. The BSE Sensex was trading at 81,970, up 65 points or 0.08 per cent, while the Nifty50 inched higher by 6 points or 0.02 per cent to 25,120.In the broader market, the Nifty MidCap index gained 0.18 per cent and the Nifty SmallCap index advanced 0.42 per cent.In Asia, equities traded mixed as investors tracked US-China talks in Spain and awaited key economic data from Beijing, including retail sales, fixed asset investment, and the unemployment rate. Japan and Malaysia remained shut for holidays.
