
The Ahmedabad Rural Police have cracked a high-value burglary case within days, arresting seven persons including a housemaid in connection with a theft of jewellery and cash worth nearly ₹40 lakh from a bungalow in Bopal.According to police, the burglary took place around 3 am on August 17 at Chidanand Bungalow, located near the Bopal Post Office. A group of men allegedly broke into the residence and decamped with gold ornaments weighing 370 grams, a pearl set, 300 grams of silver ornaments, and over ₹5 lakh in cash. The total value of stolen property was estimated at ₹40 lakh.The team of police analysed CCTV footage, technical inputs and human intelligence, which revealed that seven persons had carried out the burglary using a scooter and a CNG rickshaw. The accused were identified as Dhanpal Kantilal Meena, Harish Manoj Nanoma, Umesh Nagji Parmar, Bhagu Bharat Meena, Harish Jagdish Kalasuwa, Dhanraj Keshu Kalasuwa and Krishna, daughter of Dhanpal. All hail from Rajasthan’s Dungarpur district and were residing in Ahmedabad, mostly in makeshift settlements near the YMCA Club, Sarkhej.
