In a moving and deeply introspective event, YFLO Ahmedabad, under the leadership of Chairperson Neha Goyal (2024–25), hosted a one-of-its-kind experiential session titled “Besna – A Wake-Up Call for the Soul” at the serene setting of Suryam Repose. The session was started at morning 6:00am.
Conceptualised by Neha Goyal herself, Besna was more than just a workshop—it was a symbolic funeral of the self. It offered participants a rare chance to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their inner truth. The session was facilitated by eminent mentors Shyam Taneja and Neeru Taneja, known for their transformational work in the personal growth and leadership space.
Around 30 members arrived, dressed in white, stepping into an atmosphere of calm and contemplation. As the sun rose, the session opened with a profound and emotionally intense ritual: each participant sat silently with a framed photograph of themselves, offering a final goodbye—as if this were their last day on Earth.
From this powerful space of vulnerability, the session unfolded through several emotionally moving and purposeful exercises:
- Simulated farewell rituals, helping participants confront their mortality with grace
- Burning of fears, symbolising emotional release and personal growth
- White balloon release, representing the embrace of a new beginning
- Purpose-mapping, to identify true inner desires and life’s calling
- Guided manifestation, to channel clarity into conscious action
Tears flowed freely, emotional breakthroughs were witnessed, and a deep sense of connection prevailed. Each attendee left the space not only lighter, but with a renewed sense of clarity, gratitude, and purpose.
Neha Goyal shared, “This idea came from a very personal realisation—that we should not wait for a wake-up call. We must start living fully, from today. Besna gave us that chance.”
With only 30 members participating in this intimate, immersive experience, Besna marks one of the most meaningful events hosted by YFLO Ahmedabad in recent years.
