Rockstar DSP may have been in the news off lately for his grand DSP Live India Tour, but here’s another reason to celebrate the musical genius that DSP is. One of the music director’s early and best works, Sachein, starring actors Vijay and Genelia D’Souza, is all set for a grand re-release on April 18, 2025. The call to bring back the film was taken to commemorate the occasion of its 20th anniversary. Though it was a remake of the Telugu film Neetho that did not do well, Sachein became a commercial success, whoch also put DSP on the map as one talented musician.Sachein was a project that DSP worked on during the early years of his career in the music industry, and it turned out to be one of his standout works with Vijay. DSP even got Vijay to sing the hit song “Vaadi Vaadi,” which became a huge dance number. With DSP’s music composition and lyrics written by Pa. Vijay, Kabilan, Na. Muthukumar, V. Elango, and Palani Bharathi, the film’s soundtrack became an instant hit. Songs like “Vaadi Vaadi,” “Dai Dai Dai Kattikkoda,” “Kanmoodi Thirakumbothu,” and “Gundu Manga Thoppukkulle” quickly gained popularity among the masses and climbed the music charts soon after release.The romantic comedy, directed by John Mahendran, also featured Bipasha Basu in her Tamil debut, alongside Vadivelu, Santhanam, and the late actor Raghuvaran. A simple college based rom com, Sachein saw Vijay play the titular role, and Genelia play his love interest, Shalini.Rockstar DSP is currently embarking on his DSP Live Tour. After a spectacular show in Bangalore last week, the singer will next set foot in Vizag – The City of Destiny to perform for his Telugu fans on March 29.
