Today, on the occasion of Posh Poonam, Mahakumbh 2025 has begun. Foreign devotees, including India, have gathered to participate in the first Amrit Snan of Mahakumbh. In which devotees from many countries including Russia, Brazil, South Africa, Italy, Germany, Argentina, took a dip in Triveni with the chanting of ‘Har Har Gange’. Despite the freezing water in the cold weather, foreign devotees took a bath in Triveni. Brazilian devotee Francisco, who came to India for the first time in search of salvation at Triveni Sangam, said, ‘Participating in the first Amrit Snan is an amazing feeling. I have come to India for the first time, I practice yoga and am in search of salvation. It feels amazing to be here. India is the spiritual heart of the world. The water of the Ganges was very cold but after taking a dip, my heart was filled with warmth.’

Feeling very lucky after taking a dip:
Another devotee from Spain said, ‘I feel very lucky after taking a dip in the Ganges. We have many friends here from Spain, Brazil, Portugal… We are on a spiritual journey.’
Everyone should stay connected to their land and culture:
Another devotee, originally from Mysore and a German citizen, Jitesh Prabhakar, also reached the fair early in the morning to take a dip with his German wife Saskia Knopf and newborn baby Aditya. He said, ‘It doesn’t matter whether I live in India or abroad. The truth is that one should stay connected to one’s country and culture. I do yoga every day. Everyone should stay connected to one’s land and culture and always try to travel within themselves.’ A devotee who came to Prayagraj from Cape Town in South Africa said, ‘It is very beautiful. The roads here are clean, the people are very friendly and happy… We follow Sanatan Dharma…’.

Arrangements have been made to avoid stampede :
During the Mahakumbh, teams of Rapid Action Force (RAF), Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are also present to ensure the safety of the devotees coming to the fair area. The traffic police have made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and safety for the devotees coming to the Mahakumbh. Separate routes have been made for entry and exit of Triveni to avoid stampede. As per the traffic plan, the entry of devotees to the Sangam Mela area will be from Jawaharlal Nehru Marg (Black Road), while the exit will be from Triveni Marg.
