The criminal and bribery cases against the Adani Group in the US will be heard and decided by a single judge. The US Securities and Exchange Commission and the Eastern District Court of New York have ordered that the Adani Group case be heard by a single judge for an effective and accurate verdict. The Adani Group’s Adani Green Energy board members and promoters have been accused of taking bribes worth $265 million (Rs 2,000 crore). A case has also been filed for defrauding US investors. It has been ordered that both the civil and criminal cases be heard by a single judge. So that the different dates of both the cases do not have adverse effects and an effective decision can be taken. The judgment and hearing of the civil and criminal cases against the Adani Group will be handled by the US District Judge Garoufis. But both the cases will be heard separately. The judgment and orders of both the cases will also be different. The US Department of Justice has clarified that there will be no joint hearing or judgment of both the cases.

Chandrababu Naidu’s refusal to take action:
Andhra Pradesh’s name was also revealed in the bribery allegations of $ 265 million. However, the state Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu clarified this issue last Thursday and said that no evidence has been found for the allegations made against the Adani Group. Therefore, no action will be taken. Moreover, the US Attorney Breon Peace, who made the allegations against the Adani Group, resigned a few weeks ago.

Adani Group to face charges in November:
In November last year, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and his nephew were charged with fraud and bribery of $265 million to some Indian government officials to secure new contracts for Adani Green Energy. However, Adani Group has termed all the charges as baseless. Adani Enterprises shares have fallen by 8 percent since November 19 following the US court action against Adani Group. Adani Green Energy fell by 26 percent.
