Ahmedabad Traffic Rule Also Mandatory For Police: The Gujarat High Court had for a long time criticized the Manpa and the traffic police regarding the traffic rules during the hearing of the Panjarapol flyover bridge. At that time, according to the direction of the High Court, it was ordered to make helmet mandatory for every person sitting on two-wheelers. However, it was questioned by many citizens that when it comes to enforcement of the rules, the common citizen is the only one who cares, no government official or police is concerned with the strict enforcement of these rules. However, now considering this matter of citizens Ahmedabad Police Commissioner G. S. Malik has taken strict measures and has also enforced a strict helmet rule for all police personnel. Strict action has also been ordered against any policeman who breaks this rule.
Police will also have to wear helmets
The Ahmedabad Police Commissioner issued a proclamation, ordering strict enforcement of the helmet law for police personnel as well. In which it was said that police constables and officers serving in Ahmedabad City Police will now compulsorily wear helmets to come to the police station. It also includes civil staff. The responsibility of this enforcement will be that of the police station officer.
Notice given to police officers
The announcement said that all police officers, employees, civilian staff working at the police commissioner’s office, if they have brought two-wheelers to the office, must wear helmets compulsorily. For verification of which it will be strictly checked at all entry/exit points of the office. During verification, if any employee is found to have come to duty without helmet, they will not be allowed entry. Also instructions have been given to take similar action in other police stations, offices, branches or units.
Legal action will also be taken against the officers
Apart from this, the notification has informed the supervisory officer and in-charge to take strict action against the violators of this rule. If any officer, employee or civilian staff is found to be in violation of this declaration, legal action and penalty and punitive action are provided against him as per MV Act.
These statistics will shock!
It is to be noted that, due to increasing traffic in Ahmedabad every day, accidents occur and in many accidents people die due to not wearing a helmet. If we talk about road accident data of NCRB in the year 2022, a total of 7634 people died in road accidents in Gujarat in the year 2022. Out of which 1040 were only two-wheeler drivers. In which the main cause of death was not wearing a helmet.
