Everyone is concerned about the presence of animal fat in the ghee of the laddu prasad found in the Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh. It is being called a major attack on the faith of Hindus. After this controversy, the Karnataka government has also come into action. The Siddaramaiah government of Karnataka has issued an order, in which all 34,000 temples under the state’s Mandir Tantra unit have to use Nandini brand ghee. According to the Karnataka government’s new order, all temples under its jurisdiction will have to use only Nandini ghee for temple rituals like lighting lamps, preparing prasad and ‘dasoha bhavan’ (where food is served to devotees).

This order to the temple employees:

The Karnataka government has directed the temple staff to ensure that the quality of prasad is never compromised. In all the notified temples under the Department of Religious Endowments of the State of Karnataka, only Nandini Ghee has been ordered to be used for services, lamps and preparation of all kinds of Prasad and Dasoha Bhavan. The order comes after a major controversy over the alleged use of animal fat in making laddus at the famous Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirupati. It is managed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).
