Action will be initiated by issuing a notice regarding the illegal constructions on the bank of Vishwamitri river

Vadodara: A survey was carried out by the Corporation to a private company on the river bank construction on Vishwamitri river passing through the center of Vadodara city. The report of which has been submitted to Municipal Commissioner Dilip Rana recently. Now the Corporation will issue notice to all the illegal settlements or illegal constructions in the Vishwamitri river bank area. At the same time, efforts will be made to open the river bed by explaining to those who have been given permission. The work for the riverfront project of Vishwamitri river started from 2005. Mapping work is currently being done by the corporation. After the work done by the corporation so far, the project cost of Rs.1200 crore has been fixed by the state government, on the basis of which speedy work has been carried out. Keeping in view the Vishwamitri project, the corporation entrusted the task of surveying to a private company. Recently, different teams of private employees conducted a survey from Harani to Mujamhuda. The private company also mapped all the area around Vishwamitri river with Google. After the private company has done the mapping and survey around the Vishwamitri river, now the municipal commissioner will hold a meeting tomorrow to discuss the further process and take action to issue notices to the illegal constructions and settlements. While the Corporation will also explain to those who have been given construction permission as per GDCR rule, efforts will be made to remove the pressure on the river bank.
