Gandhinagar: This time election of Gujarat Education Board is moving towards a real battle because the boards have come face to face regarding the meeting of the governing body in this time election of the board. After 27 years, a member of the board has rebelled and filed his candidature against the same candidate who was fielded by the merged governing body. That member has then been suspended from the congregation by the congregation and this has happened for the first time in its 50-year history.

Election of Gujarat Education Board is going to be held on 24th September. Out of 9 seats, six seats are uncontested and after cancellation of one seat, now there are elections for only two seats. But out of these two seats, the real fight is for the governing body representative seat. Earlier years ago i.e. before 1997, there was a single body of state administrators as Gujarat State School Management Board but even then due to controversy in the candidature during board elections, it became a separate body as All Gujarat School Management Board and after that for years the two boards were facing each other and their Candidates used to stand in the board elections. But these mandals were merged in March this year after 27 years, as the government was not listening to them as they were separate mandals. BJP’s education cell J as the official candidate from the state school management Mahamandal-Gujarat Pradesh which is a merged body. V. Patel has been fielded, but Priyavdan Korat, the managing member of Saurashtra who has been winning for the last five terms, was not made a candidate. So they raised rebellion and filed their candidature on their own. As a result of which they have been removed from the congregation and suspended. He was also the general minister in the merged congregation. However, this candidate has been supported by Surat Private Schools Board so that the managements of the granted and private schools have now come face to face and this candidate says that the Gujarat State School Management Board is an unauthorized and unregistered body.
