The rough driving of the bus driver is responsible for the accident on BRTS route of Surat Municipality but also the drivers who are running reckless vehicles on the BRTS route are also responsible. Today once again private vehicles were seen stuck between two buses on the Dabholi route which is notorious for private vehicles in the municipality’s BRTS route. However, the mischief of private vehicles on the BRTS route is increasing with no action being taken by the municipality or the police against such drivers.

To stop the pollution of private vehicles in the BRTS route of the Surat Municipal Corporation, the Corporation had installed swing gates at a cost of more than four crores. However, the swing gates were closed due to lack of maintenance. These swing gates have been restarted after the notification of the standing committee but due to the tussle between the municipality and the agency, not all the swing gates have been opened yet, taking advantage of which some private vehicles are entering the BRTS route unhindered. Even today many such private vehicles entered the route of Dabholi. After Surat’s Udhana Road, the BRTS route covers Varachha and Katargam zones. Today, after one bus stopped at Dabholi, another bus came later and many two wheelers were also stuck between these two buses. Municipalities or police do not teach such drivers a lesson but due to today’s incident they have learned a lesson by trapping drivers for a long time. This evil is increasing day by day. The municipality has also installed CC cameras to prevent this evil. But it is also not used. Apart from this, as no action is taken against the private vehicle drivers running on the BRTS route even by the police system, people are running reckless vehicles on the BRTS route. The number of accidents on the BRTS route is continuously increasing due to gross negligence of the municipality and police as well as private vehicle drivers.
