Gandhinagar: As the workers of Gujarat have announced agitation programs regarding the old demands, the ruling BJP government has started reconciliation efforts with the employee unions. The government has started talks with various employee unions. Especially when Prime Minister Modi is coming on a two-day visit to Gujarat on September 16 and 17, the government is afraid of employee protests. Some labor leaders went to the secretariat today to present before the five-ministerial committee, but there was no resolution to the workers’ issues. Before the assembly elections in the state in 2022, the government had compromised with the employee unions and assured to solve the pending issues, but after not getting any positive response from the government, the employee unions have given agitation programs. The main demand of the state employees is to start the old pension scheme. Apart from this, Rehmrah has raised a total of 15 questions including starting the discontinued practice of employment, exemption from departmental examination after the age of 50 years of the employee, removal of disparity in pay scales, raising the retirement age to 60 years, stopping re-appointments after retirement, giving concessional rate plots.
