Nadiad: Gas leakage occurred from a tanker in a goods train passing by Kanij railway station near Mehmedabad on Saturday evening at quarter past four. As soon as he came to know about it, the loco pilot immediately stopped the train and informed the officials and fire brigade. So the team of Mehmedabad, Nadiad and Kapdwanj fire rushed to the spot and started the work to stop the gas leakage. Till late evening, no other train timings were reported to be affected due to the incident. A goods train going from Vadodara to Ahmedabad was passing by Kanij railway station in Mehmedabad at four o’clock on Saturday evening. Then there was a gas leakage in one of the gas tankers fitted in the train. On learning of this, the loco pilot immediately stopped the train and conducted an investigation. Also, all the teams informed the railway officials and the fire brigades of Mehmedabad, Nadiad and Kapdwanj immediately reached the spot and started the work to stop the gas leakage. Besides, Mehmedawad Mamlatdar and the police also rushed to the spot after being informed about the incident. Regarding this, it was said by the sources of Kanij railway station that the repair of the defect in the train is going on, it will be completed before seven o’clock. So far no other train timings have been affected due to this train. Other trains are running. It added that this goods train will also move after the repairs are completed.
