TIME magazine has released a list of the world’s top 100 AI influencers for the year 2024. The list includes the most influential people in the field of artificial intelligence. This includes those working in the field of AI and developing infrastructure. However, people are surprised to announce the name of actor Anil Kapoor from India. The name of Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav is included in this list. The magazine highlighted Ashwini Vaishnav’s role in India’s AI strategy. The magazine has also included Anil Kapoor in its list. TIME wrote that, ‘Anil Kapoor won a case in the New Delhi High Court in September against someone who looked, sounded and gestured exactly like him with the help of AI. So Anil Kapoor has got a place in this list not as a synonym for AI but as an influential person who introduced real AI. The court had ruled against various websites and platforms in this case. Anil’s lawyer used his client’s photo, voice and his famous dialogue Zakkas in the court to make him a motivational speaker with the help of AI. As well as charging fees for using his photograph, it pointed out that the photo was morphed offensively and the image with a fake autograph and the catchphrase “Zakaas” was being sold unofficially.

What did TIME magazine write about the IT minister?
The magazine has written about him, ‘Under the leadership of Ashwini Vaishnav, India hopes to be among the top 5 semiconductor manufacturing countries in the next 5 years. This is an essential component for modern AI systems. This has already started in many factories.’So far, Ashwini Vaishnav has faced many challenges with this ambition. India’s tech segment is struggling with low private R&D investment and lack of an advanced manufacturing ecosystem. The education system is also accelerating the preparation of the specialized workforce needed for advanced AI and semiconductor development. TIME’s list also includes the name of Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani. The magazine wrote about him, ‘Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani has spent more than 15 years working in and out of government to build digital public infrastructure in the world’s most populous country.’ Also involved. Apart from this, the names of Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang are included in this list.
